Video: Franz Schubert Klaviertrio B-Dur D898 Live-Aufnahme

Aufnahme des Konzertes vom 23.3.2014 im Foyer des Luzerner Theaters.

Christina Gallati, Violine
Sebastian Diezig, Cello
Paul Suits, Klavier

Cello Solo from Tchaikovsky “Sleeping Beauty” (Dornröschen)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voJaSCe8UyM

Sebastian Diezig, Cello

I practised it for the upcoming Ballet production with the Lucerne Symphony in the Luzerner Theater. Unfortunately the ballet got shortened and before the first rehearsal I was told that this solo and many other parts got cut out in order to shorten the piece. Therefore I dexided to share it on Youtube. It’s a very nice cello solo. Audio quality is okay but not great because I recorded it very easily through my computer (Photo Booth).

Video: Antonin Dvorak: Cello Concerto Live in Concert – OVUF/Ianos/Diezig

Recorded on 5/5/2013 in Fribourg, Aula de l’Université.

The Dvorak Cello Concerto is one of the most beautiful Cello Concertos if not the most beautiful of them all and for sure the most famous one. Recently I had the opportunity to play it in Fribourg with the Orchestre de la Ville et de l’Université de Fribourg under the baton of Maestro Alexandru Ianos. A great experience! Here comes the video for my own “Digital Concert Hall”. Enjoy it!

Kodaly’s beautiful hungarian style duet is undoubtedly one of the most important contributions to the repertoire for the duo violin/cello. Here you can hear and watch it as my wife Paula Novoa (violin) and myself (cello) play it in Fribourg.

Video: Hugo Wolf: Italian Serenade

During rehearsals we played this piece also at very slow speeds. That’s when I realized that the amount of harmony changes is staggering – Wolf must have been more than just your ordinary workaholic composer.

This music is amazing and yet relatively unknown. My orchestra colleagues Christina Gallati (first violin), Keiko Yamaguchi (second violin) as well as my chamber music friends Markus Wieser (viola) and Maria Efstathiou play the colorful masterpiece.
