“Casanova” für Solocello und Blasorchester von Johan De Mein ist unter Cellisten so etwas wie ein Geheimtipp. Oft steht das Stück im Schatten des bekannteren Werkes für die gleiche Besetzung – dem Gulda-Cellokonzert. Johan De Meijs Cellokonzert ist meiner Meinung nach aber vielseitiger und tiefgründiger. Hoffentlich wird es in Zukunft öfters gespielt. Ich danke dem Dirigenten Beat Blättler und seinem Orchester, der Harmoniemusik Kerns für das schöne Konzert!

Video: Antonin Dvorak: Cello Concerto Live in Concert – OVUF/Ianos/Diezig

The Dvorak Cello Concerto is one of the most beautiful Cello Concertos if not the most beautiful of them all and for sure the most famous one. Recently I had the opportunity to play it in Fribourg with the Orchestre de la Ville et de l’Université de Fribourg under the baton of Maestro Alexandru Ianos. A great experience! Here comes the video for my own “Digital Concert Hall”. Enjoy it!

In this video you can see me as I run through the last movement of the beautiful Dvorak Cello Concerto. I am getting ready for my concert with the Orchestre de la Ville et de l’Université de Fribourg under the baton of Alexandru Ianos on May 5 at 17h in the Aula Magna, Avenue de l’Europe 20, 1700 Fribourg, Switzerland. Still some minor things to fix but I think I will be fine on the great day.
